The world of radio control helicopter models is a lot of fun. Yet, you need to have basic knowledge.
Do you even know how to connect an rc helicopter servo? It must be attached with the receiver properly. Each model may vary significantly. They often work with voltages that range from 4.8 to 6V, and can be found in analog or digital version- the latter being generally faster (usually used for drift control in helicopters).
For the management of radio control helicopter equipment, each system consists of a transmitter, receiver and servos. The station is responsible for transmitting the receptor (located on the heli) the orders given by the pilot moving the control sticks and the receiver sends these commands to the servos that transform moving the controls of the aircraft such as the ailerons, rudder, depth, etc.
There are stations ranging from 2 channels to 14 channels. To fly a powered radio control helicopter you need a minimum of 3 channels, one for the engine, another for depth and one for the ailerons or rudder. It is good to begin with basics, especially if you are a beginner. But, most usually need 4 channels for the motor, depth, rudder and ailerons. If your budget is low, this is not a problem. When buying a station it is recommended to buy at least 6 channels in order to provide two additional channels to trigger as a retractable landing gear.
More channels equal more operations your radio control helicopter may be able to perform. This is why you might as well find professional advice.
Frequencies
To fly several radio control helicopter models at the same time without interference, it is necessary to use a different frequency band for each rc model. And what is the frequency? As the number of waves or cycles per second makes each station, they are measured in Hertz. The frequency bands used are often 35 and 40 MHz- these are the ones that are authorized by the general directorate of telecommunications.
After understanding about the areas of the frequency spectrum, it is important to get onto the exact frequency. Thus, when get ready to fly our rc heli, we should get more accurate results to properly give the exact frequency. Each of the bands allocated is divided into a series of dots or "channels" that correspond to a frequency. For example, the band of 35 MHz is divided into 20 radio control helicopter channels, which are numbered from 35,000 to 35,200 MHz's, with 10 kHz separation between channels.
