There are many mistakes that new comers make in the very beginning of their freelance career. One of these mistakes is placing bids on projects where the competition level is high. That is: new comers place their bids on projects where many other service providers have already placed their bids.

There are some freelance sites where service providers [SPs] have limited number of bids to place on projects every month. So now if they start to use their limited bids on projects where many other SPs have already placed their bids,Bidding Tips For New Comers Who Just Joined Freelance Sites: Part 1 Articles then this will be a very big mistake.

Winning the first project at freelance site is the most difficult thing in anyone’s freelance career. SPs need to use their limited bids very carefully.

If you see lot of bids on a project then it means that the project creator and some of the SPs who applied for the job, they will already be communicating with each other. [Most probably] The project owner would already have decided the person to whom he/she will award the project.

Also, if there are many other service providers who have already placed their bids on a project: then there is a very high possibility that some of these SPs will have high freelance rating/ranking/feedbacks. On the other hand, you are a new comer with zero ratings/feedbacks:  new comer cannot compete with high ranked SPs.

You should always search for newly posted jobs/projects at freelance sites. When you spot one, place your bid without wasting anytime.

In freelance business, each and every second counts.

New comers need to avoid competing with other new comers and they surely can't compete with highly ranked SPs.

Save your bids for the project where there is no or very less competition. Such projects can be found in the section at freelance site where latest projects are being posted.
