A Job or a J.OB.?
Bosco has a job. His boss, Mr. Crabapple, seems to have
hemorrhoids everyday. When they kick up, old Crabapple
gives all his employees, well, grief!
Fang at the next desk at Bosco's job, thinks Bosco has lost
his mind. How dare any of Fang's friends think they could
make something of themselves! Working all day at work,
then "working" at home with that "home-based" stuff.
Bosco's job stands for "Just Over Broke". He has dreams
of sending his kids to college and taking a trip to Australia.
Even his wife thinks he's nuts. And Fang? Well, lets just
say he's doubtful of Bosco's sanity.
Who wouldn't want to be tied to a job? Of course, if the
company decides to downsize, your job is safe, right?
Think again. Just ask those folks at a certain company in
the last month if their job was safe.
Time off? Forget it if Mr. Crabapple's son wants the same
days off. Guess who's getting what time off? Not you, buddy
boy!
Will Home-based Work Be Easier?
Yes and no.
Bosco has his job, and is working from home. He works 8
hours, then comes home and spends several hours on his
home-based business. Fang thinks he is too busy.
Bosco knows his plan, and is working it. In a year or so, he
can replace his income at Crabapple Incorporated with his
home business. Then the commute will be about ten
seconds. From the bathroom to his computer and phone.
He will have paid his dues, and be able to watch little J.W.
while his wife is busy. He had worked it so his wife can stay
home with J.W. several months ago.
Will Bosco Succeed?
As pointed out before, Bosco has a plan. He plans in a year
or less to just have his home-based business and say
good-bye to old Crabapple. J.W. will have both parents at
home. Is that glimmer in Bosco's eye J.W.'S little sister?
Anyway, Fang does have a plan. But maybe not! Work for
Crabapple until retirement. A week off for vacation every
year. Wages determined by the bosses prejudices.
He lives for today. He doesn't realize that the average
retiree lives on 40% of what they made when they were
working. Wow! What a comedown, especially if he is
unable to hold down a part-time job after retirement.
Another reason Bosco will succeed is his correct use of his
time and resources. Home-based business owners need to
have discipline to use their time and money wisely. He will
be way, way ahead of the game in building his business.
Where Is Bosco 5 Years Later?
Been on his dream vacation to the Land Down Under. Now
planning his next trip to Oz. J.W. goes to a private grade
school. And Sissy is now a wiggling reality in Mama's arms.
Where is Fang? Still trapped in his dead-end job. His health
insurance from work nearly gone with his wife's illness. Not
very rosy.
