Up until the minute my beautiful baby boy was born I had always planned on working. My mom worked in sales in the banking industry and I always thought she was so pretty and glamorous compared to the other moms. My mom and my husband were both shocked when I told them I couldn’t possibly go to work and leave baby Ian at home.
I never knew it would be the hardest decision that I ever made. I never knew that I would agonize and torture myself over the right thing to do.
I wanted to work, to achieve my dreams and to have financial security but my gut was saying otherwise.
My instinct was loud and clear and it was saying daycare was not an option for our family. I chose to stay at home with my cute, little pudge ball and I put my dreams on hold.
Ian is now two and a half and he is at that age where he asks lots of questions. It is very fun playing Q&A with him and I often can’t help but laugh out loud at his brilliant curiosity. A few months ago he asked me about dreams. I explained sometimes when we sleep at night we see dolphins jumping in the ocean or huge sand boxes full of toys. I told him we can dream about anything. He asked, “ANYTHING??” And I quickly said, “yes!” Then he asked, “what are in your dreams mommy?”
At that moment I realized I couldn’t tell my son to reach for the stars when I’m not chasing down my own dreams. I realized in a world full of abundance and opportunities, there had to be other options.
I truly believe that I have found a way to have both…yes, to have it all.
A friend of mine introduced me to a home based business with loads of integrity where people are making lots of money without working a full time job. As a matter of fact, with just a dedicated, yet small 6 person team, I’m able to bring in way more money than I did in my previous career. Best of all, I can do it all during naps. On top of that, I’m building credits towards vacations that we can take anywhere in the world.
There are all kinds of home based businesses out there and finding the right one can be tricky. But, if you are serious about reaching your dreams, achieving financial security, traveling the world AND being a hands on mom…you can do it!
