I was in front of the computer at home.

Nothing new for me!

I heard a few voices and the dog barking.
That small dog "yap yap" that triggers not
nice thoughts in my mind. I wont' go into
that :(

SOME FOLKS I KNEW

At any rate, I knew the three folks that had
just stopped in to say "Hi!"

Why did I know them?

Well, one was my son-in-law: I'd better know
him! Beyond the son-in-law factor was
something else --

I have taught each one of them at one level
or another about what they were doing: visiting
people!

THE JOY OF INFLUENCE

Sitting here at my computer and reflecting
about me being a positive influence in their
lives brings me great joy!

It is the joy of being a positive, personal
influence in the life of another person.

SOMETHING YOU CAN'T BUY

You don't purchase the power of *personal*
influence. Note the word I used:

"Personal."

I will say it again: you don't purchase the
power of personal influence.

You earn it.

Step by step, action by action, and word by
word ... it is earned.

You "create" a hearing by consistently giving
people the "good things" you possess.

And what are those good things?

Your sincerity, time, and wisdom. I have found,
however, that if I am going to give people these
"good things" I must have possess something
myself.

DETERMINATION

I must be determined. I must value being a
positive influence in my world. And, I must
*feel* that value "deep enough" inside of me to
keep me in the game!

A "LIFE" EQUATION

Maybe I could put it like this:

If you hold the value of being a positive influence
in your world deep inside your heart, you will
discover an on-going *need* to express what you feel.

You will spend the time.
You will strive to be caring and sincere.
And you will keep creating ways to be an influence!

A deeply held value
+
A sincere heart
=
A creative, positive influence

THEY LEFT

Oh, by the way, they did leave. The three
"visitors" left. And you know what? Two of them
went home and Steve, my son-in-law, made one
more visit that evening.

You want to know something really neat? He teamed
up with another fella by the name of Sunny. Steve
is receiving additional training from Sunny.

Now guess who trained Sunny?

You got it. A guy named Lee!

IT'S WORTH IT!

My message is simple. Very simple. Think about
and develop the value of being a positive influence
in the lives of others.

Visualize the positive impact you can, and I believe
should, make on this earth. Let it "sink in."
Cultivate it, *feel* it and then just go do it!!

At home, in your business, at church, or in your
community. Anywhere! Touch the lives of people
for good. Help them feel better, think better or
live better. Share with them the unique "touch of
you!"

Go ahead. It's worth it.
