However, the most important tip one can receive for cleaning a driveway is never to leave the spot for too long a time as the spot can become permanent.
The following steps will show the way to driveway cleaning. The first step is essential step while the remaining steps are optional. You may require some or all of the steps following the first step, or none at all, depending on the condition of the driveway.
First, one method of concrete cleaning is to pour cola on the areas stained on the driveway and leave the driveway like that overnight. The next morning, pour some dishwashing liquid in a bucket and work up a rich lather. Pour the solution on the affected area and rinse until the stains are completely removed. Use a garden hose to remove the stains, if needed.
Second, any baking soda or absorbent powder is good for driveway cleaning too. You can sprinkle baking soda or cornmeal powder on the stained area to remove the stains. If the stained driveway area is already dry, pour some water and turn the area wet first. Then make a paste of the baking soda or cornmeal powder and scrub the stained area with the help of a scrubber or a push broom.
Third, you can also use automatic dishwasher detergent for good driveway cleaning. Pour automatic dishwasher detergent on the oily area and leave the area untouched for several minutes. Follow this up with a hard scrubbing with the brush or push broom and then rinse the area.
Fourth, you can also use a commercial concrete cleaning or any grease solvent like Benzine. What you must keep in mind is to follow the instructions given on the packet carefully, in order to totally clean the driveway.
Fifth, you can also try sprinkling some trisodium phosphate (TSP) on the oily concrete. If the stained area is dry, wet it first and then apply the solution. After you have poured over the solution, use a hard broom to scrub and remove the stain. However, Trisodium phosphate (TSP) can cause damage to your skin and hence, you must be careful before using it. As a cautionary measure, always wear latex or rubber gloves while you are using the trisodium phosphate (TSP) solution on the oily concrete area.
Driveway cleaning can be an easy or a difficult task depending on the amount of time you have left the stain on the driveway. The longer the stain stays, the harder it will be to remove the stain. Also, you need to use harsh chemicals (whenever necessary) carefully so that you do not injure yourself.
