The flashlights are a mandatory part of many activities that we do today,A Most Useful Item, A Cordless Flashlight Articles especially cordless ones. If you have to plug in a flashlight it sort of ruins the purpose of having it. Otherwise, wouldn't you rather use a lamp? The point of a flashlight is to direct light where normally you would not be able to use it. If a flashlight has a cord it can make it very difficult to use, especially if you need it for an outside purpose such as a camping adventure.
Flashlights come in many different sizes, usually because they are intended for various different purposes. Smaller flashlights are typically for casual use or for camping trips, so they are small so that they can easily be carried around. A smaller flashlight can easily fit in your pocket, rather than needing to be kept in your hand. However, even though larger flashlights are harder to carry around, they do have the advantage of providing a lot more light. Not only is the light brighter on larger flashlights, but it spreads out over a larger area. This allows you to see more in front of you, and even a little to the side on some occasions.
However, larger flashlights require the use of larger batteries. Larger batteries are obviously more expensive, but that doesn't mean that they will last longer. Since the larger flashlight consumes more power, it will take approximately the same amount of time for the power to be used up out of the batteries. So even though you have the advantage of more light with the larger flashlights, they will cost you more to run over time. They also will cost you more for the original purchase, as more goes into building a larger flashlight than a small one.
Smaller flashlights have disadvantages of their own. Certainly, they won't produce as much light for the one carrying it. This means there will be limits to the amount that the user can see which can sometimes be a major dilemma. Sometimes it is necessary to see a larger portion in front of you to accomplish a job or project, or even to locate something.
Another disadvantage that smaller flashlights have is their lack of durability. While there are some pretty hefty small flashlights, these are small and in-between. Most small flashlights will not be very durable, so if dropped -- which is easy to do with a small flashlight -- they can easily break. This could potentially leave you in pitch darkness, which is never a fun experience. Not only is it worrying, but it can take a long time to find your way out of the darkness.
