Could You Hire Bishop from the X-Men for your next Home Energy Audit?
The Uncanny X-men's, Bishop, would be perfect to provide home energy audit to fellow mutants and humans alike. Read on to learn more about his abilities.
Bishop,
a character from the Uncanny X-Men, has certain mutant abilities that allow him to absorb and control energy through his hands. As such, he would be a great choice for families who are looking to get a home energy audit on their family home, summer homes, apartments, or other properties. Because Bishop can absorb strength through energy, he could easily tell how energy-laden family homes are by how much strength is harnessed.
Named Lucas Bishop by writers, Whilce Portacio and Jim Lee, Bishop's character first appeared in issue number 282 of Uncanny X-Men in November 1991. As one of the most powerful fighters in the mutant community, Bishop was a part of Professor Xavier's Mutant Security Forces. As a time traveler, he was able to travel through most of the 20th century to help the X-Men when they were operating in the late 1990s. Although he was something of an anti-hero who had difficulty adjusting to less modern times once traveling back from the future, his mutant abilities would have been great for those seeking a home energy audit.
Due to his awesome mutant powers, blasts of energy from other sources make it very difficult to harm Bishop. This is incredibly advantageous, for if during a home energy audit something went wrong, Bishop would not be harmed. No electrocution, fuse fire, or HVAC explosion could ever adversely affect Bishop. Because of this, Bishop was one of the strongest mutants, but he would have been an even stronger electrical technician. Also, if something ever did go wrong, Bishop could simply travel through time and try again. With these abilities, Bishop is essentially unstoppable as a mutant or energy technician.
Bishop's character was so popular among fans, he appeared in many episodes of the M-Men animated television series. He and fellow X-Man, Gambit, have butted heads in several episodes, but the turmoil was eventually resolved before his appearance in the animated show, Wolverine and the X-Men. In video games, he is a playable character in X-Men: Next Dimension and X-Men 2: Game Master's Legacy. The character does appear in several other video games that are less popular, but in others he is a non-playable character.
Bishop has taken on other forms in later comics, but his true character throughout the 1990s is what is remembered most by the most diehard of fans. Drawn as a large, muscular brute that could harness, absorb, and control energy, he was a favorite among many of the X-Men. While other variations of the character appeared in spinoffs of the X-Men comic series, most fans remember him from the original cast of X-Men that appeared in comics and on screen throughout most of the 90s. Today, many fans of Bishop still have the few commercial merchandise products that were made of him which include posters, figurines, and the spinoff comic series.
