Is terrazzo flooring preferred for residential or commercial use?

If one ever happened to choose flooring for his house then he must have heard about the terrazzo.  The terrazzo is actually a mixture of different chips of granite, marble, glass etcetera together. This makes it beautiful and appealing. It is easily available in the market and can be purchased from almost any marble store or market in the city. The terrazzo has its own niche in the world of marble because of its beauty. It is an age old marble still in use.             The terrazzo was invented way back in time by the Venetian constructors as a low cost floor material which was made from the chips of unused materials. As the time progressed, the processing and manufacturing became easier and easier and finally it took the shape it is in today. At first, the terrazzo was consisted mainly of marble chips, clay and goat milk. The goat milk was added as a sealer. As the machines for grinding were invented the process became easier and more efficient.             The terrazzo can be used anywhere. It can be used in houses, malls and other commercial buildings like airports, casinos, religious institutions etcetera. The best use of the terrazzo is indeed in commercial buildings. In religious institutions the terrazzo is used best. Most of the religions or cultures have the terrazzo as their age old culture and style in making and designing buildings. The great Muslim Mughal emperors used terrazzo in their temples and building of interest. Even the remains of these buildings show it. Moreover, the Masonic temples show terrazzo as a vital component of their culture. The Christian churches show the use of terrazzo in them. So, to construct a new mosque, church etcetera the terrazzo is the best choice for the constructor.             Apart from this, the terrazzo is an expensive marble and is not suitable for houses because, most of the people can not afford it. The materials that are needed in its construction are numerous adding to the cost of the marble. A simple person can simply not afford the cost which this would cause him. Apart from this, the new floorings which are cheaper and widely used in houses is best for a man in the street because, of its cost. Carpets, vinyl coverings, wooden flooring are all cheap when compared to the terrazzo or any other marble so, people prefer to go for them rather than choosing an expensive option.             The commercial buildings like airports, malls, casinos must be lavishly decorated. This adds to the beauty of the building. For instance, a casino with huge gambling halls, terrazzo floors and gilded walls would be preferable choice for gamblers rather than a casino with simple marble floor and simply painted walls. So, these commercial buildings must be incorporated with the best materials. Airports are considered as the gateway to the country now a day. Governments spend huge amount of cash on airports to attract and impress the travelers to their country. So, airports must also be furnished with the terrazzo floors in order to look good.             Apart from this, the stadiums are a vital commercial spot for the government. Beautiful stadiums, neatly lined rows and lavish decorations attract people and the international councils to host the events over there. So, stadiums must also be fitted with the terrazzo floors. This would increase the beauty of the stadium and also make it shinny in the camera after it is properly buffed up. So, using the terrazzo floor in commercial locations rather than the residential locations is wise.             A common man does not have enough money to get the terrazzo floors in his house. He prefers to buy his own houses in the minimum amount of money spent. The basic requirements in a house of a common man are backyards, more bedrooms and spacious interiors not the gilded walls and finely laid terrazzo floors. So, many people do not buy a house with terrazzo floors. They simply skip this luxury and spend this money on other things of the house.             The verdict of all this is that the terrazzo floors are not necessary for the residence but are indeed a necessity for the commercial buildings and locations to attract more people and add to the beauty of the building. Here and there, we see various commercial buildings using the terrazzo floors just because, they know that it is indeed a necessity for the commercial buildings.
