Napoleon Fireplaces – Can Make Things Memorable and Significant

Have you ever met a person who drives you crazy and at the same time makes you sane? Well, if you ask me, I would say yes. If you ask who is it? – It’s my husband. Funny how my husband gives me that mood of craziness and sanity altogether, my kids too! I have this habit of staying in the living room watching my husband show our children how good he is every time he plays keno or use play station by our Napoleon gas fireplace. My kids even sit with him with a glass of hot coco, just watching the flames on our fireplace. Observing and watching my children watch their father in astonishment makes me angry at times but at the same time sane. The Keno and the fireplace obsession all started when my husband and myself went on a vacation in Greece on a winter season. He was still my boyfriend that time and we decided to visit Greece to spend our anniversary. He is the type of person who can’t seem to live without a computer, and so he brought his laptop with him in Greece. Funny how he plays online games every night by the fireplace while he waits for sleepiness to hit him. And so during our anniversary, our last evening in Greece, we had a romantic dinner by the fireplace while a man serenade us with his violin. We had drinks, we danced but he never actually talked that much. He just noticed my hair and asked if I used frizz hair products, because my hair looked neat, but most of the vacation was a sheer romantic silence. Well, indeed, my husband is a man of few words - this is one of the reasons why I fell in love with him. I talk too much and he talks less, opposite attracts, as many people say. I can even count with my hands the times when he told me he loves me. And so even during our last day in Greece, I was waiting for him to say ‘I love you’ to me. I was mad at him but got distracted and attracted with the amusing flames that the gas insert was showing me.

And so during our last day in Greece, I waited the entire day, until dinner is over, until the romantic night is over, I heard no ‘I love you’ from him. I started to get pissed off and got really mad at him that night, but I did not show any signs of my disappointment to him, besides, I got the gas insert to amuse me. I know he noticed and felt I was disappointed but he just didn’t say anything to me. Not even a good night, if I feel cold or If I’m tired. And so eventually I felt sleepy, almost closed my eyes and there he was at my side, playing an online game again, waiting for his eyes to get tired. So I just stared at him playing Keno for a few minutes. And then not knowingly, I got amazed watching him play Keno and how the game goes as he win. And surprisingly while I find myself enjoying the game, I heard him say: “I love you” and then mentioned my name. I was so surprised when I heard what he said. And as I look at him, he uttered these words: “for all that you are, and for all that you are not, will you be my wife?” and gave me a ring. And this is our love story, why my husband loved playing keno, particularly by the fireplace.

So of course, I said yes to him. And now we have 4 kids, three boys and a baby girl. So whenever I get crazy dealing with my children as they play keno by our fireplace, my husband just looks at me, gives me a smile, and everything flashes back in my mind, as I remember the day he proposed to me and said ‘I love you’.
