There is no lock to pick or any moving parts, which eliminates just about every criminal that would try to compromise your door. It’s a more expensive type of door lock, but it is something that works well.

But I think there is a cheap way to do this too. I’m sure you had a grandmother or knew an older woman that lived alone. What do they usually do to secure their doors? They use a simple brace. It may seem trivial and old fashioned, but it works. It supplies several hundred pounds of force to the door and if the lock is picked, no one is getting in.
