People need air to breathe, so they can survive. However, during the last decade, the quality of the air we are breathing decreased considerably because of the worldwide pollution which affects Earth’s ecosystem. However, there is a method of ensuring a better air quality for your home; this is called a ventilation system.
A ventilation system works by mounting its unit in either a specially designed cupboard or a loft place. A series of ducts are connected to the main ventilation unit, and then they are used to direct fresh air into different rooms of a house.
There are two main types of system ventilation that both comply with the current working legislation but also provide excellent quality when it comes to provide fresh air: central extract system ventilation and heat recovery ventilation.
So, what are the benefits of an air ventilation system? Well, the main reason for which most people buy a system ventilation unit is because they require fresh, cold air in the summer times, when temperatures are close to unbearable. Even though some still prefer to use fans as the main method of cooling a certain inside space, the quality and performance of a single fan cannot be compared with a full featured system ventilation unit, which provides a constant flow of fresh air in all the rooms of your house. Remember that newly built house are usually designed to have the best retention (heat conservation) possible, which usually leads to less natural ventilation.
However, the summer heat is not the only reason to choose a system ventilation unit. Spring time also needs a vent system as this is the season when most flus and allergies strike. Even though on the outside there almost nothing you can do to really protect yourself from the pathogenic agents, you can control this inside your home. Look for a system ventilation unit which provides air filters that block those harmful bacteria and pollen from reaching inside your home. This way, not only that you will enjoy fresh air, but you will also make sure the air is clear of any dangers.
When autumn comes, most people shut down their ventilation system as the heat of the summer starts to decrease in intensity. Because while autumn, your home “air holes” like doors and windows are closed most of the time, there is the need of fresh air to avoid moisture, which could lead to pollution.
When it comes to energy savings, there can be done a 55% decrease in energy consumption by installing a low energy system inside the house. A low energy ventilation system works by increasing its level of ventilation only when the humidity passes a predefined level. This way, energy is consumed only when necessary, and not constantly. Those types of systems are ideal when a low consumption of electric energy is a must.
