Live video software provider 2much.net celebrates a decade in business.
(Montreal) March 12, 2007 - To highlight its upcoming 10th anniversary, live video software provider 2much Internet Services has announced a “10K special” on its unique turnkey site package and live high definition streaming solution.
Regularly $12,000 USD, the licensed software is available with full site design and comes with a comprehensive management back-end which allows webmasters easy performer and user management from a fully navigable control panel.
“There really isn’t anything like it on the market,” said company founder and president Mark Prince. “It’s best for independent studio operators and entrepreneurs starting off in the business, but experienced webmasters will be those who can get the most out of the full software package.”
Prince started off assembling independent webcam sites from scratch, often coming up against service providers reluctant to modify simple aspects of their products.
“Just to shop the various services you need when you want this kind of site takes time,” said Prince. “On top of which, it would take forever to get a response from technical support when something was buggy.”
Prince wrote his LiveCamNetwork program on home-based machines and started hosting sites from his own dedicated servers, hiring an in-house programmer to stitch together the various modules required.
“It was more of an in-apartment programmer job, actually,” said Prince. “Ye, who is still our network supervisor and head programmer, would show up at my door with his lunch in hand every morning and sit all day in a second room I had set up as an office. He did this for a year.”
Prince launched his own consumer site, LiveCamNetwork.com, in 1999, deploying the first application of broadband video chat, as a showcase for the LiveCamNetwork program, in 2000.
“Back then, broadband was non-existent,” said Prince. “I figured if consumers had the machines to handle the technology, they had the credit card to pay for high-end live video chat.”
Besides pre-qualifying bankable surfers, the system was also among the first to provide video on demand on a pay-per-minute basis. “It’s really pay per second,” said Prince. “Though video chat is better marketed as a per-minute billing option.”
In 2005, LiveCamNetwork became the first live video streaming in widescreen high-definition format. “People are jaded now by the state of the art in live video," Prince said in a Ynot.com interview with DarkLady. "Everyone expects the standard screen format and smooth video. So we're here to blow their minds all over again.”
“The stream also carries Dolby 5.1 stereo audio so the sound, which is more important than you’d imagine, takes on a whole new dimension for the user.”
On top of the 10-year, 10-K special, Prince is also offering customized pricing for industry professionals and webmasters with online experience.
“We’re dealing with that on a case-by-case basis,” said Prince. “You have to qualify for those discounts and use of the software.”
LiveCamNetwork 2.0 is described in detail at www.2much.net. The flagship and demo and site can be seen at www.LiveCamNetwork.com.
Current pricing for the 2much.net software license is valid until April 13th, when the company will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary.
