As long as your subscribers can genuinely see that you are doing this as much for their benefit as for your own, then you can almost guarantee that your list will be responsive, and that people will buy on your recommendations.
Always keeping this necessary balance at the forefront of your mind is a critical element in keeping your list members happy and therefore responsive.
