If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 years old and have always wanted to travel to the United Kingdom for an extended period, then you may be eligible for the Youth Mobility Scheme. This is a visa program that the British High Commission has put in force that will allow you to not only stay in the UK for up to two years, but also work while you are there. For the person who wants to travel and still make money along the way, it is the ideal way to get into the country.

In addition, you will have to prove that you have 1,600 British pounds in a bank account in your name, and that the money has been there for three months prior to your visa application.

As with other visas issued by the United Kingdom, the Youth Mobility visa requires you to undergo a biometric scan and complete all documentation and application forms. Assuming your application is complete and free of errors, your visa will usually be issued within three weeks of application.
