The Washington County Arrest Records are made available to the general public through the Washington County Sheriff’s Office or the Sheriff’s Office’s official website.

Arrest Records are considered public information. It is a report stating that the person involved was questioned, detained, arrested, or convicted by a law enforcement agency. These records contain details about the crime that the individual is thought to have committed. Other information may include the date and time of the incident, victims, respondents to the case, and a description of the suspect. The most common example is during a company’s hiring process where it usually involves a search through a candidate’s private history. This search will reveal and convictions or arrests, or even gaps in his/ her employment history. In any case, information here is widely available. It may be searchable over the internet or through the law enforcement agency involved.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office stores the information the searcher may need on arrests. The sheriff’s Office also holds information on the county’s inmate population. To search for records state-wide, two resources are available. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement operates a search tool in their website which shows a person’s criminal background (including arrest records). This service, however is not free. A fee of $24 will be collected to use this public service. The second resource is the Florida Department of Corrections. They also have a website with two helpful inmate locator tools for inmates that are currently held in the state’s correctional facilities.

As in the case of an arrest check, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is also a good starting place for a Washington County warrant search. However, if the searcher is a wanted person, or has an outstanding warrant, he/ she will automatically be arrested on the spot. It would be wise to make a phone call first; or go to the office accompanied by a lawyer. The Florida Crime Information Center has a public access system that can show the user a lengthy list of persons with outstanding warrants in Florida. As mentioned above, the Sheriff’s Office has an official website and it alone can provide a wealth of information.
