But, these species are facing extinction due to illegal killings and animal trafficking. As per current news, several endangered species are sold at high rates in bordering countries. This has decreased their existence in even their habitats. Growing population has also been a cause of endangering species as people now need more space for which they are cutting down their habitat.

A few endangered species are mentioned here:

The greatest threats to Asian elephants today are habitat loss, dreadful conditions, and fragmentation. This has been caused due to the increasing human population. Several forested areas that served as prime elephant habitat have undergone drastic reduction, which had a severe impact on the Indian elephant population. Poaching of elephants for ivory is also a cause for their reduced population. Making of fancy items from ivory tusks has fuelled illegal killings of these silent victims.

Indian Vulture(Gyps Indicus): This endangered breed is mostly found in central and peninsular India. In a decade only these species have suffered a 97 percent decrease in population. The cause behind this is due to veterinary drugs that are found in vultures. Though, captive-breeding programs for several species of Indian vulture have been started yet the species is on the edge of extinction. Today news channels have stood up for the cause and are broadcasting programs so that people get aware of their existence.

A program has to come for saving these endangered species or else with the rate they are decreasing in number, soon they will vanish from environment. Conservation efforts have to be made by government and strict rules should be followed for illegal killings of animals for poaching.
