The fresh air, the pure water, the green mountains, the scenic beauty, the simpler people and a tougher lifestyle is what that distinguishes Uttarakhand from rest of the world. But during last three weeks, Uttarakhand News has been in the limelight over the tragedy that left it shattered into pieces. The flash floods washed away thousands of pilgrims on its way and showcased a mass destruction of human lives and property. People from all over the country had come to visit the holy place to worship and gain some spiritual peace, rather their peace was turned into nightmares. Different news channels were broadcasting about the missing persons of the families that went for the pilgrimage. Haryana news and Madhya Pradesh News was equally on drama and urgency as people for these states were also missing and if some of the rescued person who wanted to inform their families about their safety had no other means than the news medium. More than 1500 pilgrims from the Rajasthan who had gone for the 'Char Dham' yatra are stranded in Uttarakhand. The state government on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that rescue operations in the state are now over. All pilgrims in Badrinath were finally evacuated and it is being termed as the biggest air rescue operation conducted by the Air Force. Haryana government has provided its state plane and helicopter for relief and rehabilitation measures as per Haryana News. Many people are using social media to find information about their family members and acquaintances. Photographs and helpline numbers have been uploaded and shared on social media sites. Google has set up its Google Person Finder service both in Hindi and English to offer information on missing people in the flood affected areas. According to sources, over 11,000 people are still feared to be missing in the flash floods and landslides in Uttarakhand. As per the official data, the count of missing people has reached only upto 3,500 to 3,700 but more than 11,000 people are feared to be missing in the state. Uttarakhand News suggests that rains and floods had affected 4,200 villages besides damaging 2,397 houses and 194 bridges. Now the government has to held the hands of the affected people and sympathize them in this much needed calamity.
