With Modernization, Jobs in Durgapur Are Plenty for Job Seeking Candidates

In the past decade, Durgapur has made its transformation from a small town to a mini metropolis. Before, there used to be only handful  of employment choices for the youths of Durgapur, the major amongst them being Durgapur Steel Plant under SAIL. But with the population burst of Kolkata, and a scarcity of available lands and office spaces, both educational institutes and small and big corporate made a bee-line for Durgapur. Here, amidst the planned city, there are plenty of spaces with surrounding greenery, calm atmosphere, clean roads free of traffic snarls and enough manpower for any organization to thrive and grow.

In the past, most graduates, and other professionals had no choice but to leave their hometown for jobs and livelihood as few got through the long and tedious process of SAIL recruitment. But now the scenario is changing slowly but steadily. In the past 7-5 years, the city has seen many companies set up their shop in Durgapur. Major corporate offices with enough employment opportunities have cropped up. Also the new batch of pass outs from different disciplines have taken the entrepreneurship route and opened their own offices in Durgapur, giving a boost to the city’s job opportunities. Jobs in Durgapur have thus opened up new career path for the local youth. It has also become a catalyst in bringing back those who had left earlier for better opportunities.

Companies such as Reliance,Tata, Idea, Spencer Retail, Future Group, and many more private limited companies  are providing jobs in Durgapur. Today, the new graduates will no longer have to leave their hometown and go elsewhere for a job, as plenty of opportunities are available to the deserving candidates in this city only. Headhunters are adequately recruited to advertise these jobs and get the best of talents recruited for specific job roles. This was unthinkable even a few years back. Now the city operates like any other metropolitan city, where the locals are earning  their livelihood in their own city. It has also been seen that those who had left earlier in the absence of such options are letting go of their lucrative, but hectic jobs in other cities and coming back to their hometown, where they either have their parents still living here, or have a home, built by their parents who never thought about leaving the city.

Jobs in Durgapur have given a new ray of hope to the people in this town. They now have the rare luxury of staying back with their loved ones in a city they grew up in. In this fast moving world, it is still a dream to be at the same place as one’s parents and peers, interacting with old friends and setting up home in the same city one was born in. Most people after passing out in their chosen stream, have to leave their hometown in search of better opportunities and better remuneration.
