Before we start let me tell you that I don't believe in wishes,Are you wasting your wish... Articles because wishing involves a "maybe" mindset, a "lucky" mindset and I believe in taking responsibility and attracting what I desire in life.

So why would I put this title on this message to you?

The title is mainly directed to those who have been swept away by "The Secret" craze that is now everywhere. And if you have not been caught up in the craze, this article will give you some insight so you don't get misled.

Now, don't get me wrong, I believe in the Law of Attraction, although I'd rather refer to it as the Bible does as the Law of Like Kind, which God set up in the Book of Genesis. But most people who listen to "The Secret" go off half-cocked thinking all you need to do is sit around wishing and dreaming and all the world comes to you.

That's only part of the story and thus the title "Are you wasting your wish?"

Visualization is definitely part of the formula and a very vital part but there are several other ingredients that are missing here. So let me give you at least one major example so you can see what I am talking about.

Let's compare your wish, dream or desire in life to a seed. You want this seed to bring forth fruit and not just a little fruit; you want it to bring forth major fruit. So how do you go about that? Well, obviously you have to plant it. So let's compare planting to your visualization.

Your visualization is planting the seeds in your mind and seeing it there over and over againbut what about the ground of your mind that you are planting it in?

The scriptures talk about the parable of the Sower. Most people miss the point of this parable and turn it into whatever they want it to be. In fact I heard someone this morning do just thatit was a very good sermon which caught my ear because it was about this parable, but he completely missed the point.

In the parable listed in Matthew, Mark and Luke it talks about the ground the seed lands on and what happens to it once it has been sown. There are four types of ground represented here and even though the seed is perfect, if it is not planted on the right ground, it can't produce what you want it to produce.

The ground is your mind. Is yours hard, stony and crusted over? If it is, then no matter how good your seed or vision is, how does it take hold? If your mind only has just a thin layer of fertile ground the seed will only last a little while and then die. Then there is the weed covered thorny ground that chokes the seed out so it never has a chance.

What we want is the good ground that brings forth good fruit in our lives.

The good ground is having the right mindset. When you plant a seed in the right mindset, you never waste it and whatever you plant there will grow and be fruitful. So prepare your ground and plant your vision, expecting a bumper crop.
