The power of a well functioning mastermind alliance or group should not be underestimated.  The impact on your life can be profound.  I have noticed that when I need to refocus, become energized or pull myself out of a rut, I naturally begin to seek out and surround myself with a group of people who appear to be where I want to be.  I do not replace my friends or coworkers, of course.  I simply begin spending a little more time in the company of people who are a little farther along on the spectrum than I am, especially in the area in which I am feeling stuck and need the most growth.  I didn't realize it then but what I was doing was forming a mastermind alliance with a group of individuals who helped to propel me to the next level.  I am currently a member of a mastermind alliance that enhances my spiritual walk. However, I have noticed that I need some fresh ideas, enthusiasm and accountability in other areas of my life.  Therefore, it is now time for me to establish a mastermind alliance for my personal and financial growth as well.  I feel confident that this will be the key that will open the door to the next level in my life, personally and financially.  Are you willing to do the same?  Are you ready to multiply your power to achieve by establishing your own mastermind alliance?

The Mastermind Alliance / Group: When two or more non-competing minds join forces in the spirit of collaboration for the attainment of a definite purpose or goal, you have the makings of a mastermind.  You've heard the saying that two minds are better than one.  Well, this philosophy is the driving force behind the mastermind alliance.  The Bible even supports this philosophy by stating that when two or more agree and are on one accord when making requests of the Heavenly Father, it will be granted.  However, the catch is ensuring that you have assembled the right minds.  Getting people together who can be on one accord, with a laser like focus is powerful for each member of the group.  The acceleration of your growth can be immeasurable.  Being a member of a mastermind group allows you to see options and opportunities from many different perspectives, thereby opening your mind to increased possibilities.  The members of the alliance are committed to each individual's success and help them achieve their goals by listening, supporting, offering ideas, playing devil's advocate, coaching and holding them accountable.

Assembling your Group:

You must have a definite purpose or objective for creating your mastermind alliance.   This purpose should serve the interests of all members of the group.  You must have members whose knowledge, experience, and education provides the greatest value to the group and its purpose.  They must also have a willingness to share their expertise with the other members of the group.  Therefore, there can be no competition among group members.  You will need established criteria for your mastermind members.  This is the time to be picky about whom you invite in your group and extend acceptance to, as this step is critical not only to the success of your mastermind but also to the achievement of each member in the group.  The members you select for your mastermind is of the utmost importance and can be the determining factor in the success of your mastermind group.  Because of the significance of harmony necessary for a successful mastermind, it is best to keep your mastermind group relatively small.  You should have between 5 - 6 members in your mastermind group and only 2-3 if you are not necessarily looking for a group but a small alliance.

Mastermind Group Process: 

Planning the logistics of your mastermind group is a very important task.  Although your plans will likely be altered once the group is in place, it is definitely a plus to be prepared. You can meet with your mastermind members via phone, in person or online. Regardless of the method, it is paramount that you meet on a regular basis.  It is best to meet at least twice a month but once a month would be sufficient.  The length of time needed for each meeting will depend upon the number of members in your group.  Typically, you set aside time to spotlight each member of the group.  They will have time to share with the group, their goals and the current challenges and opportunities they are faced with.  The group would then have a brainstorming session to offer ideas, challenge the member to set new and more bodacious goals, help identify and celebrate successes and offer innovative suggestions.  This process will give each member a safe platform so that they are free to explore opportunities, openly resolve personal and professional issues, discuss ways to overcome challenges and solicit ideas for breakthrough.  As part of this process, there is also a great deal of accountability as the members hold one another accountable for accomplishing the tasks that they have committed to.  Just this piece alone, having someone hold you responsible for meeting your goals, can be the catalyst for significant growth.  In addition to the individual member spotlight time, your group should allot time on the agenda for roundtable, housekeeping items and to discuss your group's collective goals.
