Cell phone is a device which helps you stay connected to the rest of the world. In this day and age, the cell phone has become an essential part of our daily lives. Communication has become easier for everyone since the creation of cell phones. It has allowed people to be more flexible and independent in their daily lives while still being able to stay in touch with friends, family and the rest of the world.

Cell phones are simple and easy to use. They not only fulfill the function of a portable telephone, but they also have a variety of functions like clock, calendar, camera, alarm, music and internet. One can use a cell phone to not only call other people but it is also useful in sending text messages and e-mails to others while on the move. Cell phones come in different brands, colors, sizes and there are many different options to customize the phone according to ones needs. 

The ordinary individual has found the utility of cell phones in emergencies. Whether at work, home, studying or travelling, one can be accessed easily as long as they carry a cell phone. People of all ages and backgrounds carry a cell phone these days. Parents can keep a check on their children’s activities, friends can stay in touch with each other and family members can maintain contact with each other no matter what part of the world they are in. 

In the business world, cell phones are also very helpful. It helps one stay connected with their clients at all times of the day while giving the flexibility of moving in and out of office. The same device can be used to establish phone contact, to send and receive e-mails and text messages to clients and co-workers. Latest cell phones also have internet features which allow access to websites and the financial world at all times.

Although cell phones have made our lives easier, they do have some disadvantages as well. Having the latest model of a cell phone has become a status symbol. These can be expensive and not every person can afford it, yet people spend lots of money on buying the latest models. Many young adults spend too much time texting messages and sending e-mails on it, and spend less quality time with their families. Texting while driving has been the cause of motor vehicle accidents.  Studies can get affected and therefore most schools discourage children from bringing cell phones to school.

Peoples’ privacy can also get affected with use of cell phones. There are times at work or at school when one would prefer to be on their own, so that they could concentrate on work. However constant incoming phone calls or text messages could be a distraction.

Cell phones have a great impact on our lives and were probably one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century. More and more people are now using cell phones and the world is coming closer to each other as a result.
