Both the handsets use Eclair version 2.1 which is an ANDROID operating system. Desire has a AMOLED capacitive touch screen that measures 3.7 inches Whereas the Wildfire includes a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen. The screen of Desire is certainly better as it is larger than that of Wildfire. But the Wildfire bring out great display of content displayed on the screen. The colours supported by Desire and Wildfire are 16 M different shades.
Both the handsets care capable of increasing their data storage capacity up to 32 GB. The external memory can be increased using a micro SD card. However, internal memory of both the handsets is not much. Desire has a phone memory of 576 MB and Wildfire has it as 384 MB. With every purchase of HTC Desire a 4 GB memory card is included in the purchase but no such offer with wildfire. You need to buy the external memory or the micro SD card.
Both the handsets are available on all major networks of UK like Vodafone, Virgin, O2, Orange, T Mobile, 3 Mobile etc. The HTC Desire Pay As You Go and HTC Wildfire Pay As You Go are gaining great popularity. The choice is totally left on you to pick the one that suits you the most.
