So it has been made clear that the purchase of a led light bulb is not as insignificant or unimportant as it might seem to most of the people. Also,Led light bulb – facts to know about it Articles it was mentioned that one of the most important technical characteristics that need to be paid attention to are related to economy and lifespan of the led light bulb. However, most of the people seem to be totally unaware of what those characteristics are and how they can recognize if their parameters are good or if not.
So let's start with the technical characteristic that gives information about the lifespan of the led light bulb. It is usually called "working life" and is estimated in hours. Obviously, the longer the lifespan of a led light bulb is, the more hours it will be working. Unfortunately, many users do not completely understand what it means if a led light bulb has a lifespan of, say, 20.000 hours. Is that good? Is that bad? How many days or months is that? Those are all logical questions which many people are likely to be asking themselves, but being shy, they never find the answer.
Luckily, the answers will not remain unrevealed today! To the first one, 20.000 hours of lifespan is not something which a good-quality led light bulb have. It is highly recommended that led light bulbs with a working life of at least 50.000 hours to be purchased. Practically, that type of led light bulbs can be used for a period of over 8 years, without being switched off. It sounds fascinating, doesn't it? It definitely guarantees that lots of money will be saved as the user will not need to buy a new bulb every month or two. Adding the fact that the led light bulb usually has a working voltage of 12V, there is no doubt that the electricity bills will decrease too!
Anyway, when things come down to a led light bulb, there is one more specification that just could not be ignored - it is the luminous flux! What it gives information about is how bright light the led light bulb actually produces. Obviously, the more lumens the brighter light! In other words, it could be compared with what the so called "watts" used to give information about. The most important thing that the users should know is that the luminous flux is an important factor when choosing a led light bulb. For example, if a bulb is needed for a small room, even 300 lumens could do, but if it is needed for a huge room; at least a 900 lumen bulb will be needed.
