Starting from the relatively simpler and smaller digital camera, a few things strike you at first interaction. This smaller type also referred to as compact digital camera has an in- built flash that is of relative low power. This can adequately cater for recording images at close quarters. A digital camera typically sports a live preview feature. In smaller compact cameras, this feature is mainly used to frame your image. But in larger and more robust and versatile types, the feature opens a window to the camera person to customize the images captured or recorded to suit their intended purpose. Another limitation of the compacts is the zoom compared to more powerful types like the DSLR cameras. The compact digital camera seems to take the aspect of cost into consideration they use image sensors measuring about 6mm.But these sacrifices end up giving the compact digital camera a lower ability to take pictures in dimly lit environments. But the compact digital camera has also evolved to the surprise of many. Recently, compact digital cameras that capture still photos in 3D have been developed. They have come to spot many different features; particularly those that have been produced from the year 2011.Some of the features that have come to be incorporated on this pocket sized digital camera include GPS barometer, compass and altimeter.

Higher Definition Digital Camera

One of the higher end digital camera innovations is the Bridge camera. It resembles a DSLR. Indeed some of the top features on DLRS camera are also present on Bridge camera. But it is not the most sophisticated of the high end types because it still ports some of the features associated with compact cameras. These features include the fixed lens and a small sensor. They are referred to as Bridge digital cameras because they bridge the gap between the more affordable but less versatile point –and- shoot types and the arguably very highly priced and more powerful and effective SLR models.
