I encountered this Tenvis IP391W IP camera for my own house surveillance after nearly a month referring to the reviews and price comparison. Many other brands such as Sony and Casio will cost $200-$400 for such an outdoor IP camera. Compared to the price and functions,Tenvis IP391W-My First Outdoor IP camera Review Articles I finally made my mind to buy this Tenvis IP391W on Amazon

The camera arrived within a week and I was impressed by its appearance at the first glance. It was solidly built and seemed great quality. Make it strong enough to work even in extreme weather. The user manual along with the package provided by Tenvis was helpful to complete the installation and I have already located it under my eaves to view through my garden.

Frankly, the setup procedures was not so smooth and successful as D-link, casio. I did not expect an excellent instruction for setup for this bargain brand IP camera. The installation guide was badly translated from some language, I need to search on Google as soon as a problem occurred through the whole setup procedures.

The key features of Tenvis IP391W

Wifi connection: IEEE802.11b/g
Video Resolution: 640x480 or 320x240
Night vision with a large array of infrared emitters
Weather-resistant housing
Support remote surveillance via smart phone anytime anywhere.Motion Detection and alerts via Email and FTP Server

The frist step of setup is connect your IP camera to your router by an Ethernet cable. After the basic connection finished, wifi mode and DDNS can also available in your local network. It was a tough task for me to enable FTP to work.(Maybe it was my own fault.)

I tested the motion detect email alert and found that the majority of them are delayed pictures rather the live image snapshot by the sensor. But the night vision mode really impressed me. The 18 pcs infrared lights make the image valid enough even in total darkness which is much better than other IP cameras.

Short conclusion:

Pros: Price is nice compare to other cameras built in with the similar features. Looks cute. Excellent night vision.

Cons: Poor English for instructions, hard to understand.
