Android applications are no longer set to be associated only with smart phones. Though the Google’s mobile operating system began its course with smart phones, it has reached a position of taking over other high –tech gadgets in the near future. These new applications are expected to bring about the Android revolution in gadgets, ranging from the ordinary to the extra-ordinary.

 

The first such gadget is the television. The concept of the Google TV is all set to combine regular television-watching with a new experience influenced by Android. This will allow viewers to use the Google search to locate channels, shows, movies and so on. At the same time the consumer will be able to look up videos, photos and other material that is available online. This gadget will also have a number of applications that will allow the viewer to personalize his product. The product is expected to be launched in a few days and will run on TV sets, Blu-ray players and standalone boxes.

 

Quite a few Android-driven tablets are expected in the near future. Some of these are an Asus Eee Pad, a super thin tablet by LG which is yet to be named, and a seven inch tablet like an I-pad from Samsung. The top five now are products of Asus, Samsung and the Google Nexus 7.

 

The third product, likely to be launched by numerous manufacturers is a phone for use at home. Even though it will be connected to a landline, it will be endowed with a number of high-tech functions. These would include internet access and support for Android Market applications.

 

Even more advanced than the home-phone is the new gadget, the home command centre. Apart from having internet access, it would have home command centres, which would allow it to perform functions like locking doors, switching power on and off, and even adjusting your air-conditioner!

 

Two other Android-powered devices to be expected in the market very soon are the Android-driven washer/ dryer and yes, a microwave that runs on Android-power!

Android phones are found in different shapes, sizes, and features. New sets are out in the market at regular intervals, so it would be a good idea to check out the latest list. The Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC One X, HTC One S, Motorola Droid Razr Maxx -- are some of the best in the market.

 

All Android operating systems are given the name of a particular dessert, and that, too in alphabetical order, mostly. This is because the first two applications do not follow the same pattern. It begins with Cupcake and the latest is Android 4.1, known as Jelly Bean.
