Embark on a captivating 3-day journey through Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the new natural wonders of the world. This adventure includes exploring the majestic Surprise Cave, basking on the pristine sands of Ti Top beach, immersing in local fishing village culture, and the unique experiences of squid fishing and discovering the serene Ngoc Vung Island.

A Journey from Hanoi to Halong Bay

Departing from Hanoi at 8 a.m.,Unveiling the Splendors of Halong Bay Articles our group was abuzz with excitement for the upcoming adventure. Our itinerary promised a blend of natural exploration and cultural immersion, with highlights including the Surprise Cave, Ti Top beach, and the tranquil Ngoc Vung Island. However, the prospect of squid fishing under the stars was the most anticipated activity.

Brief Respite at a Traditional Handicraft Village

Our journey included a brief 15-minute interlude at a traditional handicraft village, offering a glimpse into local artisanal crafts. By 11:30 a.m., we arrived in Quang Ninh province and made our way to Bai Chay wharf to board the Indochina Sails. Greeted with cool towels and a warm welcome, we were escorted to the ship by a tender, the sound of drums and the smiles of the staff enhancing our arrival. A refreshing welcome drink awaited us in the onboard restaurant.

Indulgent Lunch and Afternoon Activities

Post-refreshment, we enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at 1 p.m., the extensive menu warranting a full hour of our time. As the sailboat glided through the waters, the stillness was such that we felt no movement, allowing us to fully appreciate the passing scenery through the glass windows. After lunch, we eagerly ascended to the sun deck to capture photos in the brilliant sunlight.

At 3 p.m., we had the choice of swimming at Ti Top beach or kayaking to explore the Bat Cave. No opportunity for adventure was missed, and we were soon informed of a Wine Tasting event on the sundeck at 6 p.m.

Evening Serenity and Squid Fishing

The evening brought a serene atmosphere, with summer breezes and classical music creating a harmonious backdrop for sipping wine on the sundeck. A candlelit buffet dinner commenced at 7 p.m., accompanied by traditional music performed by local artists. The day concluded with some guests trying their hand at squid fishing, while others retired early in anticipation of the next day's activities.

Sunrise Tai Chi and Ngoc Vung Island Exploration

Despite a scheduled 7 a.m. departure to Ngoc Vung Island, many of us awoke at 5:30 a.m. to partake in Tai Chi exercises and watch the sunrise. After transferring to a dayboat, we were provided with bicycles to traverse the island. The journey to Ngoc Vung took nearly 3 hours, filled with breakfast, sunbathing, and laughter.

Upon arrival, we were struck by the island's tranquility and isolation, with fresh water being delivered by passing boats. The beach, lined with pines, revealed sand as white and fine as sesame seeds, earning the island its name, which translates to "sesame diamonds." This secluded paradise offered a respite from the bustle of city life.

Kayaking Adventures and Evening at the Fishing Village

After returning to the boat for lunch, we shared photos and rested before embarking on a kayaking excursion. The evening promised another thrilling experience at a fishing village, where the absence of moonlight made it an ideal night for squid fishing. The sight of fish and squid in the nets brought a newfound appreciation for the fishermen's laborious lifestyle.

Surprise Cave Visit and Fond Farewells

On the final morning, the boat anchored close to Surprise Cave, allowing for a quick tender transfer to the cave. Following a hearty brunch, we checked out, reflecting on a journey that combined luxury with unforgettable experiences. This Halong Bay adventure, with its opulent Indochina Sails and remarkable itinerary, was truly an experience worth sharing.
