In the words of La Rochefoucauld, "Those who know their minds do not necessarily know their hearts." This quote resonates with my personal journey through the world of internet marketing. It's a journey that has seen me glued to my computer for 12 hours a day, leading to some unexpected physical changes and lifestyle adjustments.
My fascination with internet marketing was so intense that I found myself spending half the day at my computer. However, after a few months, I noticed some physical changes. My body was adapting to the contours of my desk chair, my skin was losing its color, and my hair was turning gray. It was clear that action was needed.
My early morning starts to accommodate my 12-hour computer sessions were making me hungrier. Instead of reaching for unhealthy snacks like Fritos, I switched to boiled eggs and apples. This change didn't sit well with my husband, who missed having munchies in the house. I suggested he could buy them himself if he wanted them that much.
My early starts also meant early dinners, which disrupted our shared meal times. My husband wasn't thrilled about coming home to an empty dinner table, but I suggested it was high time he learned how to cook.
Spending 12 hours a day in front of the computer necessitated some form of physical activity. I decided to spend at least half an hour on the exercise bike, which I set up in the living room. My husband wasn't too pleased about the new living room decor, but I suggested he could use some exercise himself.
Living in Florida, I was accustomed to having a tan. However, my computer time was eating into my pool time. I started using self-tanning lotion, which my husband wasn't too fond of. I suggested he could sleep in the spare bedroom if the smell bothered him that much.
My computer time also led to an increase in my smoking habit. By the end of the day, my lungs felt heavy and congested. I decided to quit smoking, which led to nicotine withdrawal and increased irritability. My husband wished I would start smoking again, but I told him to go to #&*%!!!
With the money I made from my e-business, I treated myself to a new hairstyle, a new wardrobe, contact lenses, and a minor eye surgery. My husband wasn't too pleased about the spending, but I reminded him that I was the one working 12 hours a day and I would spend my money as I pleased.
Months later, I'm thin, toned, and tanned. I look and feel fantastic, even though no one has noticed because I still spend 12 hours a day in front of the computer. My only regret is that my husband isn't here to see the "new me." He left me seven months ago...
