By heated treatment, color of Amethyst can be changed into yellow to turn the crystal into citrine, and there is case to form ametrine by heated amethyst with temperature among 450-550. With relatively lager particles whose color would take on a richer form, most of the quartz we can see in market is frequently of square shape in convenience to manifest the contrast effect of the two colors.
