Advertising has always been about visibility. Growing up in the Southeastern United States, one could not go anywhere without being subjected to the endless amount of brightly lit,Bigger, Better, and Oppressive: Does It Work in Affiliate Marketing? Articles sometimes garish billboards lining the highways and byways. Throughout the South, the large amount of these billboards hawked slogans imploring visitors to either buy fireworks at the next exit or visit Rock City. Are they effective? They sure are. In advertising, bigger is better, and less is pretty much never more. The question is: do the rules that apply to tried and true advertising in the physical world apply to the virtual world of the Internet? They do apply, but in a more refined fashion as you’ll see.

Truth be told, the more invasive and pervasive your affiliate marketing program extends its tendrils throughout the Web, the more chances of success and survival. Picking a product and service that you have no problem trumpeting is a given, but let it also be one that can sell to a large market. You need to be extremely familiar with that market demographic, let’s say, motorcycle riders under 30, and cater to them exclusively. Pinpointing your efforts to a certain demographic is key, and the more close a relationship and understanding of that demographic, the better tailored your affiliate marketing advertising campaign can become. Once you have found the product or service and the targeted audience you can begin writing and displaying your focused, well written articles on your chosen subject. It is essential to not rest on your laurels and write one to five articles and expect to make an impression, a profit, or even a dent in the process of achieving the income you are desiring. This is where the sheer magnitude and quantity of your writing can come into play. Writing an egregiously large amount of Internet content is in order. Daily writing and posting of content with your specially placed links, keywords, and keyword phrases will help you build your presence on the Internet and exponentially increase your chances of making and securing all important commissions and getting closer and closer to making that all important bottom line.

Internet advertising and real world advertising both possess a surprising amount of commonalities. They share a need for extreme exposure, the ability to build a respected reputation, and the ability to help provide an experience that motivates a target audience to reach for their wallets and pocketbooks.
