Attend Trade Shows in 2012 to find Super Wholesale Dollar Merchandise Buys

Many people who own a dollar store business do not take time out of their schedules to attend trade shows every now and then.  This can be a big mistake since attending such shows can really be beneficial.  Try to attend one a year at the very least.

You have undoubtedly heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words.  You can look at pictures of the wholesale dollar merchandise before you buy it from your supplier.  However, nothing beats actually being able to view the merchandise up close.  You can certainly do that by checking out items available for sale at trade shows.

These items are being showcased for a reason, and will likely sell really well in your store.  By attending a trade show, you can even come across new products you have never even heard about.  If your competitors are not there to find out about these hot new wholesale dollar merchandise products, you will have them available for sale before they do, giving you a great step up on the competition.

Every dollar store owners wants to save as much money as possible on their merchandise costs.  A good way to do this is by buying from trade show suppliers since they are there to offer deals.  Some of the products the suppliers will offer will be items you are already selling in your store, but sometimes they are offered at a lower price.

It is always best to put a name to a face.  While at a trade show, you will probably get the chance to meet a representative from various wholesale dollar merchandise suppliers you do business with.  You can talk to them for a while in order to build a better working relationship which can certainly benefit you in the future.

Networking with other store owners is always a good idea, and there is no better forum to do that than at trade shows.  Owners from all over the place will be attending.  You may even learn a few useful tidbits of information on how to run your store better.  Make sure you have plenty of business cards on hand to give out, and collect as many as you can in the process.

Trade shows may also provide you with more official training as opposed to what you learn by networking with other owners.  These shows frequently hold seminars and training sessions to teach you things such as cutting costs or how to operate more efficiently.  

The more knowledge you collect, the better you can run your business.  If you did not attend any trade shows during 2011, do not make the same mistake now that it is 2012.
