As for the mounting of the scope, 7/8th inch rinds come standard with the scope at purchase, and the scope is a breeze to mount. You may wish to get higher rings to make sure that you have the sight that you are going for, but try the stock rings first. They might be just fine for your rifle or crossbow.

Lastly it is obvious that this scope was made to take a beating or two or three. Very much an item made to last, this scope is strong enough to cope with pistol recoil, shotgun blasts, and the higher caliber rifles. Lenses are backed by O rings, and so you have a water proof and fog proof item sound for any nasty weather. The scope is of the aircraft grade aluminum, and very durably made. Barrel is nitrogen filled, and the over construction lends it self well to being bumped, dropped, accidentally struck by a low tree branch, and so on.
