With the World Bank Index placing Gujarat as the number one state in India in terms of “Ease of doing business”, Dholera, the first smart city of India has become the friendliest place to do business and attract huge investments.
This was the first survey conducted by World Bank in which Gujarat won the top position by scoring 71.14 percent. The assessment of states was done over a six months period starting January 2015 to June 2015. The agenda consisted of 98 points which formed the basis of assessment. Eight key areas were identified for the survey which were:
Gujarat has scored good scores on all parameters and is the top scorer for ‘complying with environment procedures’.

Construction of an international airport has also been sanctioned by appropriate authorities taking Dholera to the world, making it a globally accessible city. Other modes such as railways, metro and its nearness to the port also make it a feasible option for both Indian and foreign investors.
The current cost of land in Dholera also makes it an irresistible option for investors. Currently land is available at very low prices here. It can be rightly said that a huge luxury villa built over a residential plot in Dholera shall cost the same as a 2 BHK apartment in any other smart city of India. To top it up, Dholera is becoming one of the fastest developing cities of India which shall soon see property prices sky rocketing giving exponential returns on investments.
