Corporate employees must learn from desser plant or water plant about how they have developed competency to live in such habitats.......
The question is how and when one needs to acquire competency? Should they develop all the required competencies and take up a position in a corporate or should they take up a job with a belief that all the required competencies can be developed during/on job. How competency is different from experience? What corporate need the most, experience or competency or competent experience? What is the real meaning of competent experience?
Learning the trade before starting up of a trade will be like building a relationship of husband & wife before marriage and later become wife and husband if the understanding goes well. The effort of building a career or life should not end up in testing/experimenting once belief system or on the future possibility. It is a dangerous game. When someone attempt to venture such experiments, they will be only conducting endless experiments and never able to see or appreciate results.
Nature has plenty of examples to offer to man in this regard. A perfect water plant or dessert plant never would have learned the art of living in such ecosystem before they find their place over there. Although the evolution was a very slow and long process, the basic approach was no way different. These plants would have developed different adaptation skills from one generation to other and would have perfected the art. The possibility of adaptation of a water plant can happen only in an aquatic environment and so is the dessert plant in desert ecosystem.
When we cite such example so loudly and explicitly, we should not forget the fact that adaptations were only ‘life/bio centric’. Adaptations were also happening in the in-animate ecosystem and we may call such events as ‘changes’ and not as adaptations. A dessert would not have become a dessert overnight and an aquatic ecosystem would not have become like an aquatic ecosystem overnight. The adaptations in the plants that are suited live in the above habitats would have been erratic in the beginning with the erratic demands from the nature.
It is not, the stable competency that would have helped these plants either to become a dessert plant or water plant, their competitive experience only would have helped them to become what they are today. Neither the experience nor the competency would independently help any one to become successful. One has to synchronize both the traits. Based on the need, one should know to keep whether the experience on the outer circle by keeping the competency at the centre or experience in the centre by keeping the competency on the outer circle.
In nature, animals have learned the art for their survival. The bear in the polar region will be very competent in hunting during the right season and eat as much as it can. Its experience is that food may not be available during the forthcoming winter season and hence it has to starve and go for hibernation. During such season, bear keep its competency at the centre and its experience in the periphery. During winter, the same bear, keep its experience in the centre stage by freezing its activities to prevent energy loss and go for hibernation (winter sleep). Its experience is that, food will not be available during winter season hence should not waste energy.
To be more precise, one can learn the definition of competent experience better from the game of cricket. If the chasing team had lost early wickets and the target is presumably high, even the best of the batsman would go for defense stroke than showcasing the master blaster performance as they cannot afford to loose anymore wickets and some how must win the game. At such point of time, the batsman keeps their experience in the centre and their competency in the periphery. On the contrary, the same team would go for an aggressive run hunting if were batting first. During such occasions, they keep their competency at the centre and the experience in the periphery. Corporate employees must learn this lesson to become successful instead of heavily banking either on their competency or on their experience.Bamboo Business Approach: A Natural Phenomenon Mirrored in Corporate Strategies
