The Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) is the U.K.'s premier governing body and trade membership organization for ecological consultants, with over 4,000 members of various grades. Full corporate Membership is seen as industry wide recognition of a person's education, competence and experience. Objectives of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management

1. to advance the science and practice of ecology and environmental management for the public benefit in the United Kingdom and Internationally;
2. to further the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity and maintenance of ecological processes and life support systems essential to a fully functional biosphere;
3. to further environmentally sustainable management and development;
4. to promote and encourage education, training, study and research in the science and practice of ecology, environmental management and sustainable development; and
5. to establish, uphold and advance the standards of education, qualification, competence and conduct of those who practice [sic] ecology and environmental management as a profession and for the benefit of the public.

Do you need an Ecological Consultant? Martin O'Connor BSc (Hons) MIEEM is an Ecological Consultant at Arbtech Consulting Ltd and a full corporate Member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, holding and the designation 'MIEEM'. Martin also holds Natural England licences for three European Protected Species; Bats, Great Crested Newts and Dormice.
