* Lower moral standards – As you evaluate the moral standards over the past several decades you will notice that more and more actions are tolerated today that were completely unacceptable one or more decades previous. These lower standards have contributed to an acceptance of behavior that is detrimental to society.
* The technology explosion – The technological advancements that have allowed for an increase in productivity and the power to do things that were never before attempted. This has made certain crimes possible that were never before attempted. This includes computer hacking, white-collar espionage, and targeted attacks against rival companies or personal enemies.
* Religious and cultural differences – People of religious and cultural beliefs and lifestyles are no longer segregated by physical locations. As these religious and cultural diverse people mix together in neighborhoods and cities, the opportunities for irreconcilable differences and violent results increase.
What Does This Mean?
Often times a combination of these factors and others contribute to a particular crisis. Because the chances for crisis are increasing, preparation is more important than ever for not only corporate reputation management community and public safety, but even small companies and individuals must consider crisis management policies.
No one knows when a crisis will happen or from what vantage point the attack will come. That is why it is essential in today’s society to be as ready as you can for any possible situation.
