Remember, a nagging or an irritating boss or a very uncomfortable environment can help you a lot. Only through trial and error, the hanging roots would have learned to grow away from light.
Root of the focus and focus should be your root. One needs enormous interest & passion to admire the nature and acquire an uncommon wisdom. Why nature is so vibrant, versatile, startling and so panoramic? Why it is so ‘stable’ despite so dynamic? How it is so diverse and diverse within diversity? Man needs patience and child like curiosity to learn the subtle & silent lessons of nature. He needs peace and tranquility within him to learn them, to understand them and grow with them; otherwise he would remain as a ‘dead wood’ like how many people are today.
The banyan tree and many other trees belong to the group of figs have so much to offer to man. The interesting point is that the fig trees with age produce large number of lateral roots or roots hanging down from its branches, such roots are scientifically called as ‘adventitious’ or ‘hanging/tilt roots’. Scientists have explained why certain tree species trees produce such roots. But always it is a mind boggling question as why such roots are formed when the main root of the tree is already very deep inside the soil?
What do such roots convey to man in general and people in corporate in particular? Another question is why such roots formed from the branches grow downward while the leaves and branches of the tree are growing upward. It is easy say that the purpose of the root is draw water and nutrients, hence it grows downward or it has to grow downward. But what is ‘the factor’ that regulate/control/guide such process.
In the evolution, the roots learn to grow against light while the leaves and braches grow towards the light. The root must know to grow away from light only then it can find water and nutrients and support the tree. It takes light as its guide.
The message to be drawn by the corporate people is that do not always look for an inspiring guide or a boss to follow, also learn, not to follow them if they don’t worth so, still you can fetch success. Do not believe, that to grow, a positive stimuli is needed, a negative stimuli also will help your growth. Also learn sometime, not to grow along with something or move towards something, by moving exactly opposite to that or growing totally against, also is inevitable for success. But the issue is ‘what and how’ one would choose something to emulate or follow and something not to get inspired by & not to follow is a very delicate subject. Consciously & conscientiously every employee must make a choice on the above.
Remember, a nagging or an irritating boss or a very uncomfortable environment can help you a lot. Only through trial and error, the hanging roots would have learned to grow away from light. Your nagging boss can act like a ‘light’ source to the hanging roots. Never look for support in corporate, look for an opportunity. Identifying and exploiting the right opportunity alone will take you to the summit of success.
