How To Clean Up Your Computer- Five Easy Steps

#1-Disk Cleanup Go to My Computer, right click on your hard disk drive, select Properties, and select Disk Cleanup. This will get rid of all that extra "fat" that is on your hard drive that you don't need.

#2- Assign Proper Startup Programs Go to the Start Menu, select Run, type in "msconfig" (without the quotes), which will bring up the System Utility Configuration. Select the Start-up Tab and deselect any programs aren't needed upon start-up.  If you are unsure about a certain program, then leave it.

#3- Remove Old Programs Go to the Start Menu, select the Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs, and look through your programs and remove any that you don't use anymore.

#4- Defragment Go to My Computer, right click on your hard disk drive, select Properties, select Tools, and select Defragment. This will put all of the files back together that your computer will spread out over time, making it take longer to open a file.

#5- Empty The Recycle Bin Right click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop and select Empty Recycle Bin. Just like you have to take out the trash at home, you have to take it out on your computer as well.
