In mid-September,Nintendo 1.4.1 / 1.4.2 Patch No Match for EZFlash Vi Card Articles a patch for the Nintendo DSi XL and DSi consoles by Nintendo was announced to 'improve back-end system performance on DSi consoles'. Unfortunately, there appears to be no visible difference in DSi play other than Nintendo may have blocked many of the most popular Nintendo DS flash cards from working.  No useful features were added, nor an performance enhancement.  Users were prompted to update their DSi cards when they connected to the DSi settings menu after connecting to the internet on their handheld console via a Wifi connection.  The update process has to be initiated by the user via System Update or access to the DSiWare store. Cards that were prevented from working after the Nintendo DSi patch was applied also include the R4i SDHC, the iEDGE DS Acekard 2i and M3i Zero. However, since the 1.4.1 update, the Acekard 2i and M3i Zero have both released fixes.  The R4i SDHC team has promised a fix for their current card, but so far have only been able to releaes a new version that is compatible leaving their previous users waiting for that fix.The EZFlash Vi card has since been proven to be compatible with all the latest versions of the patches even without flashing the card to a newer firmware. No fix was necessary as the current EZFlash Vi firmware was not blocked in anyway by the DSi update.  Card fixes were based on the game that the card was flashed to imitate, but the EZFlash Vi remains as Tak and the Great Juju challenge.  Danny Phantom and Star Wars: Lethal Alliance based images have currently been blocked.  While many other card users were forced to wait for their respective development teams to release a fix, all EZFlash Vi users were able to play without interrutption.  This means that the card is compatible with all Nintendo DS and DSi consoles on the market at the moment, which would make it a good Christmas gift regardless of what console has been bought this holiday season.  Be sure to buy genuine DS and DSi compatible cards like the EZFlash Vi from a reputable vendor selling only genuine cards. There exist many fake cards on the market (most notably of the R4 and R4i variety but many others as well) and it is important to purchase your card only from a legitimate and trusted source.
