Righteous Kill will take you to the very centre of a psychological thriller with you as the main heroine.

What is human life worth? Who has the right to decide who lives and who dies?

As Erica Dean, a police officer in the Vigilante Unit of New York Police Department, you are assigned to investigate a homicide case. The Unit deals with cases when citizens decide to take justice and law in their own hands. This time Terry Collins, a young husband and father who lost his beloved family in a convenience store robbery, is the main suspect in the murder of the person responsible for the death of his wife and daughter. The man was not convicted because of a legal technicality, and now he was found dead. Your mission is to look for evidence and build a strong case against the avenger.

So you start to search for evidence and investigate the case. You will visit 16 locations in your work. On each stage you have several locations to explore. The game play is nothing unexpected - you look for items hidden in a screen. I would say the complexity level is rather adequate as you don't have to get your eyes out of your head in order to find something, but you are quite limited in time and this balances the game perfectly. For instance, in the first stage you have to find 30 clues in 10 minutes - and that's absolutely possible!

If you encounter a problem finding some tricky item, you can use your UV Flashlight as a hint. Unlike in most hidden object, you are not limited in number of hints, but once you use your flashlight it requires some time to be recharged, so be careful using it.

After you have finished a stage you'll be offered to play a mini-game examining the found evidence and trying to find its connection to the suspect. The mini-games include jigsaw puzzles, tasks where you have to find differences between pictures, looking for fingerprints and more.

On the whole the game is distinguished by the realistic atmosphere created due to the sounds making you feel like you are in a park or laundromat and the pleasant visuals.

Quite a worthy hidden object game, I would say.
