Not sure where to start the task of installing your own Smart-UPS 1500 battery replacement? Then you should relax! Installing the battery into a battery backup unit has never been this easy before. The installation requires no technical or mechanical background,SUA1500: How To Install The Battery Articles the unit has been created for easy battery replacement by the everyday average person.
The SUA1500 unit can only take one type of special replacement battery that is custom fitted for this application. The specific battery type is known as the RBC7 replacement battery. Finding this battery may prove to be somewhat difficult, the two primary methods to locate the RBC7 battery is either purchasing the battery through a local battery distributor (if your lucky they will have one) or the simpler method, through the internet! Either way, before we start opening up the battery compartment of the Smart-UPS 1500 you'll want to procure yourself an RBC7 replacement battery.
To start the installation, we must first take out the spent RBC7 battery from the unit by gaining access to the battery compartment. In order to do this, we must first remove the face plate from the front of the unit. The face plate will house all the function buttons for the unit as well as it's indicator lights. This plate is secured to the unit by several pressure clips positioned around the face plate, you'll have to put a bit of muscle into it, but it will eventually come off! After removing the face plate from the SUA1500 unit, you will be confronted with a steel latch which seals the doorway to the battery compartment. To gain access to this compartment, you must remove both screws at the very top of the latch. Once these screws are removed, you can now pull the latch down to reveal the spent RBC7 replacement battery.
To begin removing the battery, you will need to first slide the battery out of the unit until you have clear access to the grey anderson clip which connects the battery to the SUA1500 unit. Once you can get to this plug, simply disconnect it by pulling apart the wires attached to each clip. Once you have separated the two anderson clips, its now time to remove the battery the rest of the way from the unit. Installing the fresh RBC7 replacement battery into the unit is as simple as removing the spent one. You must first slide the battery far enough into the unit to attach the grey anderson clip to the Smart-UPS 1500 unit. Once the connection is established between the battery and the unit, you are able to slide the battery the remainder of the way into the compartment. When the battery is as far into the unit as possible, its time to seal up the metal latch be securing it with the two small screws we removed earlier. The final step in the installation process is to attach the face plate back on the unit, this concludes the SUA1500 battery installation!
