Are you focusing on the wrong things when it comes to email marketing?
If you live in New York City and ride the notorious subway, you’ll most likely relate to what I’m about to say.
If you live elsewhere and there’s a public transportation train system that you regularly take (or used to take), you can probably relate too.
I was born and raised in New York City my entire life and I’ve been using their public transportation system since I was a child. I particularly enjoyed riding the subway. I can’t put my finger on it, but it was something about trains that really fascinated me.
But do you know what really fascinates me to this day?
The people.
I like to watch people especially how they react when they’re in situations where their patience is tested, like facing train delays.
There are two different types of people in those situations.
There are the people who will grow impatient, sigh very noticeably, constantly suck their teeth, or curse under their breath (or loudly).
Then there are those who stay calm because they know they’re in a situation they have no control over, so it’s not worth getting upset.
What does this have anything to do with emails and copywriting, you say?
I’m glad you asked.
When it comes to emailing, there are certain things you can control, and certain things you can’t.
Here are some things you can’t control:
People opening your emails.
Reading.
Clicking on your links.
Unsubscribing.
Again, when it comes to things out of your control, it wouldn’t make sense to get upset about it.
Yet, people still do.
They complain about low open rates, no one is clicking on their links, people are leaving their email list, etc.
Instead of complaining, why not start focusing on things you can control like writing better emails or getting more engaged readers onto your email list.
Both of which I teach in How to Become an Email Titan.
If you got yourself a copy of the sample chapters, you already have access to the chapter where I teach you how to build a responsive email list and only partial access to the email writing materials.
