Spain based company PixelMoon conquers USA and European kids ebook market with “Urki, Beyond the Forest” application created under the impression of “Neverending story” and Jim Henson’s movies.
This application is an adventures book with a video game included, written in English, Spanish and intended for 7-11 years old readers. This is the result of the work of two people: Míchel Goñi as developer and Mónica Coca as writer and illustrator.
The basis of Urki’s story is mostly Mónica Coca’s imagination, but she has found her inspiration in the books she read and the films she saw during her childhood like “Neverending story” by Michael Ende and Jim Henson’s movies.
Among wide variety of children applications this one is notable for the combination of exciting story, original illustrations and unique interactive game with music specially composed for this ebook app. The magic atmosphere is all around you on every page!
“It`s conceived as an entertainment for children but since the launch of the app we’ve found that adults also love it! So now, we say that it’s a book-app for kids of all ages. The launch was a month ago and we have had sales from countries like India, so maybe if the things go right we could translate it in other languages”, tells Mónica Coca to dbReaders.
“Recently we’ve launched “Urki, beyond the forest” for Kindle. Now you can read it on your iPad (full version), iPhone, the Kindle reader and Android device as an e-book without the animations, sounds and the video game”, Mónica continues.
The application is for sale on the App Store and now on Amazon. The company plans to sell it on other Internet shops like Smashwords.
PixelMoon has contacted with other writers and illustrators in order to start new projects linked to the world of the childhood and this month they will start with the second part of Urki’s adventures.
