It is understood that at least 60 people have lost their jobs after an engineering firm in Mallusk closed its doors.
Rotary had been under threat since its Australian parent company Hastie collapsed several months ago.
A member of staff told the BBC that workers at Rotary were informed at about midday on Wednesday that the local firm was now in administration.
The firm was founded by the Jennings family in the 1950s.
It was bought by Hastie four years ago. It is understood it had been doing work for Bombardier among others.

It had been hoped a buyer could be found for the Northern Ireland arm of the company, but none has yet been emerged.
The administrator, FTI Consulting, is expected to make a statement later.
The Dublin branch of the company was placed into receivership last week.
