AILET 2016: Preparation Tips

AILET 2016 is conducted by NLU- D. The test covers English, GK, Logical Reasoning, Mathematics sections. Here are some section wise preparation tips.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University,AILET 2016: Preparation Tips Articles Delhi. NLU- D is the only NLU to conduct its own entrance exam; otherwise NLUs screen students on the basis of their CLAT score. The notification regarding the AILET 2016 was released informing about the dates of the examination and the application form. According to the notification, the application forms will be available from 1 January, 2016 onwards and one can apply online on the official site of NLU- D. AILET 2016 will be conducted on 1 May, 2016.

There are English, logical reasoning, General knowledge, Mathematics, and Legal Aptitude section in the test.  Each section consists of 35 questions while the mathematics section consists of only 10 questions. It is a pen- paper based test and the total time allotted for the test is 90 minutes. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. Also, un-attempted questions will be considered as incorrect. The total mark of the test is 150.

One must prepare the ore topics properly to score in the test. Legal Aptitude, English and Logical are the main sections that one must concentrate on. The English Section will cover grammar and vocabulary related questions, para- jumbles, reading comprehensions etc.

 General Knowledge and Current affairs section is easy to handle. One must follow the national and international news and keep themselves updated. News related to politics and business must be known. This section will also contain some factual general knowledge questions, for which one should have basic knowledge of History, Geography, Economics, and Science etc.

The Mathematics and Numerical Ability section will consist of only 10 questions. This section will cover the topics such as Speed- Distance- Time, Permutation and Combination, Algebra, Profit- Loss etc. One can refer to 10th and 12th level mathematics books while preparing.

The Legal Aptitude Section is one of the most important sections. This section contains questions framed on legal propositions and set of facts satisfying the propositions. Candidates must be aware of basic law terminologies and codes. Knowing these basic terminologies will also help candidates during the GD & PI session.

The Logical Reasoning section will cover the seating arrangements, blood relations, number and alphabet sequence, venn diagrams, syllogism, logical sequence and logical collectives related questions.
