Manipal University - one of the most popular and sought after deemed universities in the country has been placed among the top 300 institutions in the world. The ranking have been released recently by Emerging Economies University Rankings and Times Higher Education BRICS.
It seems like Manipal University is reaching close to its objective of being among the top 200 colleges in the world by 2020. In the Times Higher Education BRICS and Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017 declared on Thursday, Manipal University has been ranked in the 251-300 band.
The positioning incorporates only those nations that have been categorized under "advanced emerging", "secondary emerging" or "frontier" categories by FTSE, including the BRICS countries.
Dr H Vinod Bhat, Vice chancellor of the University said that Manipal’s enduring advancement up the positioning in the most recent two years has guaranteed that the college is among the top-notch colleges across the globe. He also expressed that with this accomplishment, the government of India must classify Manipal University as a world class university.
FTSE has arranged India in “secondary emerging” category with Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia and UAE.
These rankings use similar 13 performance parameters as the leading World University Rankings to judge colleges crosswise over core objectives. Yet, they are recalibrated to mirror the advancement needs of colleges in rising economies.
The current year's table incorporates 41 nations, up from 35 a year ago, and interestingly, the positioning incorporates 300 colleges.
