The guide is not there to do the research for you, but he is there to guide you or help you to solve the problems. A research is all about analysing facts and figures on your own, because if you don't analyse it, you will not be able to learn. Learning comes through failures, every failure helps you in realizing the mistake done and re-working on it means still the saturation level is not achieved. Motivation

Motivation is just not a term! It is a building force or forcing the scholar to work again to achieve the desired goal. A PhD student sometimes gets shattered of working again and again, but still empty handed. It becomes important to build the confidence of the student again, so that the student is back again with double energy.

Availability

It is important for the guide to be available for the student at the given time and location. Unavailability of the guide affects the student’s work and it is delayed on the other day then. Whenever the student is stuck in between, then make sure that you call the guide to fix the time and location to meet.

Interest and Enthusiasm

Apart from just solving the doubts, theguide should take interest in what approach the student is following or the feasibility of work approach is right or not. The guide should have a grip on his communication skills. Good communication skills impart a good impact on the student and the tendency to understand more the topic. The open, honest communication leads to no issues or misunderstanding in between the student and the guide.
