Ramjas College is one of the oldest as well as popular colleges of Delhi University. Admissions to the college are carried out on the basis of predefined cut off marks.
One of the first three colleges established in Delhi University, Ramjas college is located at university enclave, New Delhi. It was established in 1917 by the great educationist and philanthropist Rai Kedar Nath. It started off in Darya ganj and then made its way into what is presently known as north campus.
The college realizes the overall intellectual, creative, cultural and socio-political growth and development of both the students and the college community in its entirety. The college also has a very developed infrastructure backed by latest technology which caters to the growing needs of the curriculum as well as the students and the faculty. It also has tie-ups with foreign universities. Owing to its new academic block and the women’s hostel, it is one of the most sought after college with very high cut offs, especially for the academic year 2016-17.
Admission to Ramjas College is done through a joint admission procedure conducted by Delhi University. It first involves filling up of a common admission form online available on the official website. After that the cut offs are issued and the applicants are required to report to the college, submit their fees and get themselves enrolled.
Ramjas College provides a variety of courses for undergraduates, postgraduates as well as language courses. Undergraduate courses are - B.A programme, B.A(Hons), B.Sc programme, B.Sc(Hons), B.Com programme, B.Com(Hons). Post graduate courses listed are - M.A, M.Sc and M.Com. Other than these, it also invites applications for language courses - French, German, Spanish and Italian.
The college gives out scholarships to various reserved categories (SC/ST/Pwd etc) according to the norms of University of Delhi.
Other than academics the college also excels in sports and extra-curricular activities. Ramjas college has an extensive network of societies which compete at various levels. It has a dance society, Shunya dramatic society, debating society, literary society, Qnights-the quiz society, Backbeat music society among many others.
The college has their own placement cell. The placement cell serves as an interface between the students and the corporate world. Apart from bringing various companies to the campus, the placement cell also organizes talks, study abroad seminars, internship opportunities, and workshops for the collective student body. The cell has brought many prominent recruiters to the college like Deloitte, Barclays, ICICI prudential, Max life insurance, Dell, Wipro, Evalue serve, Protivity, Tata Consultancy services and E&Y.
