Governor Dayton headed back to college today, talking to students at Winona State University about their futures.
Dayton wanted to learn more about the one of a kind program that may lead them to better jobs in the years to come.

It's something that we see every day, but don't really pay much attention to.
"It started with defense aerospace, and from there it trickled down to sporting goods, and things in our every day life," said Matthew Benson, who works with the students in the program.

Composite materials. They're in everything from hockey sticks to violin bows. Winona State University plays a big role in making them. The school has the only undergraduate Composite Materials Engineering Program in the country.
"That's what drew me in here, was just that it's a very specific program. I've gotten to do a lot of cool things that I never thought I'd be able to be a part of and work on," said Ben Gerjets, a student in the program.
Things that even brought Governor Dayton to the college.
The focus of Thursday's meeting was to talk to the Governor about the importance of composite engineering. Graduates go on to make all kinds of things, including what will be the new regulation helmet in Major League Baseball next year, and it was made by students who graduated from the Composite Engineering Program.
